THE EVENT

Love to dance? Love the beach?

Get in quick - this always sells out.

The summer solstice weekend the beautiful Tyneside cove of King Edward's Bay (known locally as 'King Eddie's') will play host to the neon-lit Silent Disco party known as Silent Disco On The Beach.

This sublime seaside gathering is packed with great joy and serious larks . An 'open-music-policy' means that big-egos or too-cool-for-school types will be met with an inclusive, friendly atmosphere that caters to absolutely everyone's tastes and celebrates every kind of music and music-lover under the sun.

Musical duties land on the capable shoulders of acclaimed musicians and banger-bringers Beccy Owen and Will Lang, who will be battling it out on the night to bring you an unparallelled summer soundtrack, whilst The Cumberland Arms (Ouseburn) will be providing the licensed bar, with an emphasis on locally produced craft ales, craft cider, wine and spirits.

Whilst Beccy and Will share over 25 years of record-playing experience between them it's worth remembering that at a silent disco it's ultimately you who gets to choose what you listen to. By personalising the experience we encourage people to choose the sounds they want to hear in any given moment via a pair of channel-switching headphones that will be loaned to you for the night.

We haven't figured out exactly how or why yet, but there's something totally unique about a silent disco that creates a liberating, intimate bubble of joy for each individual party-goer whilst also building instant alliances with friends (and strangers) who happen to be listening to the same tune as you in any given moment…The fully licensed bar will also help us all stay lubricated for the evening as we dance our sandy socks off.

Friday and Saturday, 19:00-23:30.

Please note: This is an 18+ event.
